Introduction to Prepositions: Using At, On, and In
Prepositions are small but powerful words. They connect nouns or pronouns to other words in a sentence and show time, place, or location.
Without prepositions, sentences sound incomplete.
For example:
❌ The keys are the table.
✅ The keys are on the table.
Among all prepositions, at, on, and in are the most commonly used—and the most confusing.
