Part 1: Formal Letter Writing (5 Marks)

Focus: Complaint, Inquiry, or Letter to the Editor.

1. Letter of Complaint (Electronic Goods)

You are Rohan/Rohini of 15, Nehru Nagar, Delhi. You recently purchased a high-end laptop from 'Digital World', but within a week, it started freezing and the battery is draining rapidly. Write a letter to the Manager complaining about the defective product and requesting an immediate replacement or repair.

2. Letter to the Editor (Social Issue)

You are Divya/Deepak, a resident of M.G. Road, Bangalore. You are concerned about the increasing menace of stray dogs in your locality, which has made it difficult for children and senior citizens to walk safely. Write a letter to the Editor of The Times of India highlighting this issue and suggesting possible solutions to the municipal authorities.

3. Letter of Inquiry (Educational)

You are a student of Class 10 and wish to join a crash course in "Digital Marketing" during your summer vacation. Write a letter to the Director of 'Skill-Up Institute', Noida, inquiring about the course duration, fees, faculty, and whether they provide any certificate upon completion.


Part 2: Informal Letter Writing (5 Marks)

Focus: Advice, Invitation, or Sharing Experiences.

4. Encouraging a Friend

Your friend, Amit, has been feeling very demotivated after not performing well in the pre-board examinations. Write a letter to him encouraging him to stay positive, sharing your own study tips, and reminding him that there is still enough time to excel in the final boards.

5. Advising a Younger Sibling

Write a letter to your younger brother, who stays in a hostel, advising him on the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a balanced diet, to keep his mind sharp for his studies.

6. Thanking a Relative
